Members Testimonials
Toastmasters has made a significant difference in every aspect of my life. In the past year, I have built a foundation in interacting and establishing relationships with people that will last a lifetime. Not only did this organization help me in public speaking, it also established a confidence in casual talk that has helped me land a great job. Before TACL Toastmasters, my interviews for programming jobs were terrible. Like the emblematic person in my field, my speaking abilities were atrocious. Most people who study in my field spend 10-12 hours at a time staring at a computer screen, so when it comes to "on-the-spot" speaking, computer scientist are lacking. I interviewed for the same position at a reputable company before and after I was an established member of Toastmaster, which was the only thing that had changed in the amount of time between the interviews. Only the second time, I was offered the job, right there when I spoke to the president of the company. I didn't take it because, by then, I had other significant offers. TACL toastmaster club does things to reach out to society as well. In many speeches, humanitarian issues are discussed and calls to action are expressed. Three of our members participated in this years BP MS150, while the group contributed to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. But above all, the people at the club are some of the most warm and friendly people that I know. Regularly, the people in this specific club hang out outside of the actual meeting. Last Memorial Day weekend, the whole group decided to go on a picnic, where we had an enormous feast. I even played badmitton with part of the group, and although I lost, I had a lot of fun. Being in my early twenties, I am one of the youngest people at Toastmasters, but age is not an issue when it comes to genuine friends. Just last night, I joined some friends at a club member's house to watch the first round of the Basketball Finals.

Toastmasters to me is more than communication and leadership training; it has become a part of my daily activities. My confidence has grown through interactions with fellow Toastmasters broading my horizons and preparing me for new challenges. While not everyone needs to master communication and leadership to succeed, the skills one learns as a Toastmaster can go a long way in furthering a person's ability to developed public speaking, leadership, time management and social skills while making new friends that can last a lifetime. Also, TI underlines the importance of having postiving thinking and cultivating humorous mindset.

I like to share with you on what I learned and what I benefited from toastmaster training. First, I learned to be a better communicator. Knowing everything is useless if you can not communicate it to someone. Toastmaster is about this most important skill, communication. From toastmaster, I learned to share my thoughts. Toastmaster training gives me the confidence I need; I am no longer timid, I feel liberated. It gives a sense of freedom to express my opinion. Second, I learned to be humorous. Toastmaster training made it easy for me to inject humors into my speech. It makes me see the humor in the small episode of daily life. It’s very rewarding to be able to crack jokes and make people laugh. Third, I gain many friends. Our club culture is ‘Having good times while learning.’ Toastmasters are a bunch of people who I like to be with. From toastmaster training, I learned how important to make guests and new members feel comfortable in the new environment. Enthusiasm and fellowship are two key elements making this club great! I am proud to be a member of this club.

After almost 15 years of belonging to our Toastmasters club, our meetings have become part of my life. Every Monday, I am looking forward to our meetings in the evening. For I know I will learn different knowledge from various subjects in the prepared speeches. The challenging questions and the answers at the Table Topics section will never bore any person and I get to know a little more about our fellow toastmasters from this section. The evaluation training makes me polish my listening skills and reminds me to be humble to take criticism and kind to give it. On top of them all were our fellowship and the fun time we had together that attracted me to keep on coming to our club meetings for all these years. I know I will be coming to our meetings for many years to come.
